7-Second Resume Statement
As the eldest child of immigrant parents and a first-generation college student, I learned to face challenges head on, equipped with the belief that if you take the time to listen and understand, and persevere, most problems are solvable.
Harleen currently serves as the Associate Director, Advisory Services on the Grads of Life team. Prior to this, she was the Manager of Development Operations at Bottom Line, a nonprofit supporting students from low-income backgrounds and who are the first generation in their families to go to college to and through college.
She began her career working with students at a community based organization running afterschool programming for K-12 students in East Los Angeles, and eventually made her way into the nonprofit consulting world with The Room40 Group. Harleen is a graduate of Boston College (go Eagles!), and recently completed the Community Fellows Program with the Institute for Nonprofit Practice, earning a Certificate in Community Leadership and Social Change. Harleen lives in Brooklyn, NY, and when not at work she enjoys hiking and the outdoors, cooking elaborate meals for friends, and enjoying all that New York has to offer.
