Attending three different school districts before the age of 10 taught me the importance of remaining open and flexible to all that is new and unknown; helping me better navigate ambiguity in the workplace.
Bio
Lara (Dorko) Bach is a five-year veteran of Year Up, currently serving as Associate Director, Advisory Services. In this role, she works directly with employers who are interested in implementing more inclusive and equitable human capital practices. Previously, she was the Special Assistant to the Chief Officer of Innovation and Scale, working across innovation and California teams to support a wide range of fundraising, corporate engagement, team strategy, and project management efforts.
In 2012, she attended a senate hearing where Microsoft testified, “A failure to invest in our local schools is a failure to invest in our future workforce.” This statement sparked her interest in working for organizations that connect companies’ resources and opportunities to young people. Before joining Year Up, she interned with DC Public Schools, Patton Boggs LLP, and the City of Pittsburgh Mayor’s Office. When not binge-watching competitive cooking shows, she loves to daydream about new travel adventures; to date, she has been to 25 countries.
