Kristina Alessi is Associate Director, Advisory Services. She utilizes her diverse background in product, program and partnership development at nonprofits and for-profits to creatively address complex problems and help build an inclusive economy and safer society that offer opportunities to all. In her previous leadership role at a data talent ed-tech start-up, she worked closely with a host of partners, including XPRIZE, JFF and MIT Solve, to effectuate upward mobility of under-resourced and marginalized communities.
Prior to her career in workforce development, Kristina held a variety of roles in business development, management consulting, and human rights advocacy. At a K-12 education start-up, she teamed up with various public and private school districts to develop training programs and resources for their educators to foster critical thinking and effective communication skills in children and teens. In her role as a business consultant, she advised Fortune 500 companies and start-ups on building sustainable, impactful, and profitable businesses through organizational culture and customer-focused services and products. While at Human Rights Watch, she collaborated with UN offices and other governmental and non-governmental organizations to advocate for and provide protection to victims of human rights violations.
Kristina is a graduate of Columbia University, where she majored with honors in Political Science and International Relations. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, and seeks out physically challenging and transformative experiences, including kayaking, marathon running, long-distance trekking and lodge-to-lodge cross country skiing.
