Kayla supports operations and strategy for Grads of Life and Year Up United’s thought leadership and influence in the skills-first and workforce development fields.
Kayla comes to Grads of Life with work experience in service engineering business development, food hydrocolloid B2B marketing, and antiterrorism nonprofit branding. She also completed an internship in the U.S. Senate. As a resident of Charlotte, North Carolina, she supported the Year Up United Charlotte office with ushering in their inaugural cohort of graduates.
After graduating from the University of South Carolina (Go, Gamecocks!), Kayla was selected as a Teach for America corps member (CPT ‘18) and spent four years as a K-12 educator teaching middle school English language arts. During this time, she earned a master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Education.
Outside of work, you can find her exploring new restaurants and enjoying the outdoors with her rescue dog, Sandy.
