MND's award winning Career Focus program provides comprehensive services emphasizing career planning, rapid placement, adequate wages, and long term job retention. Clients receive individual job coaching and support services, resume review, employment readiness training, career counseling, computer literacy training, interviewing and networking practice with local business professionals, job search & placement assistance, and a minimum of one year of follow-up services.
Maritime, Transportation, Distribution & Logistics (MTDL)
MTDL offers a specialized three-week, 90 hour program which includes 2 years of post-completion/post-employment support. Thirty hours of the program focus on industry-specific multimedia and field training. The program also includes sixty hours of job readiness training, reading, math, computer literacy, career and work-ethic assessments, completing a job application, interviewing skills, resume writing, and workshops on employer expectations. Through workplace visits at the Port of Baltimore and/or related industry sites and business networking opportunities with industry professionals, participants are equipped to confidently move forward in pursuit of their new career.
Upon completion of this three week training, participants are exposed to the opportunity to take part in in a number of industry specific post-secondary certification programs including forklift certification, OSHA 10, Certified Customs Specialist, and Global Logistics Associate.
Commercial Transportation Careers (CTC)
The CTC program will provide an accessible entry point into this ever expanding job sector, helping clients earn valuable occupational credentials (CDL-B License) and gain access to stable, well-paid employment with Transdev and a variety of other employers in the region.
The training program is divided into three phases: 1. Three weeks of job readiness and CDL Learner's Permit exam preparation at MND; 2. Four weeks of CDL-B behind the wheel training at Transdev with MND's case management support; 3. One hundred sixty (160) hours of paid Transdev safety training with MND's post-employment follow-up support. MND is able to streamline and support training more effectively, establishing a series of attainable benchmarks through each stage of training and providing the case management services to support successful completion.

Professional drop in services are now available at MND for motivated job seekers with limited time. Services include cover letter and resume writing support, job leads and tips, support for online applications, computer skills tutoring, and more.
