HP developed HP Learning Initiative for Entrepreneurs (HP LIFE) e-Learning based on an understanding that by providing small business owners and entrepreneurs with essential IT and business skills, HP could strengthen communities by creating more jobs and supporting small businesses.
“Through HP LIFE, we are trying to tap into young people and improve IT and business skills to help them start a business or grow a business or just improve their skills for future employment.”
Through its global citizenship platform, HP leverages its technological and employees’ expertise to improve communities and address social challenges. HP focuses its citizenship in the areas of education, the environment, health and the community. Through this commitment, HP wanted a way to formalize and scale HP LIFE, a successful 2007 initiative that provided business skills training to small business leaders and entrepreneurs at HP LIFE global training centers. HP’s goal was to support small business owners and entrepreneurs around the world in building successful businesses and creating more jobs.
In 2012, HP launched HP Learning Initiative for Entrepreneurs (HP LIFE) e-Learning. HP LIFE e-Learning is a free, cloud-based training program to develop IT and business skills. The courses are modular, interactive, and full of information and practical exercises. HP LIFE e-Learning is accessed directly by self-paced learners but also used by educators, to enrich their curriculum and personalize their interactions with learners. There are currently 22 HP LIFE e-Learning courses available in the areas of Finance, Marketing, Operations, Communication, and Special Topics such as Social Entrepreneurship and Energy Efficiency. The platform is available in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Arabic, and more courses and support are added on a regular basis. Powered by HP technology, it includes a vast range of features, certification, advice, and access to a global online community.
